Our Story and Founding

The journey began with a bold question from Dr. David A. Stone, a materials scientist: "What if construction materials could fight climate change instead of causing it?"

A Scientific Breakthrough

2006: While at the University of Arizona, Dr. Stone developed Ferrock, a composite using waste steel dust and CO₂ to create a durable binder.
Superior Material: Ferrock was found to be stronger and more flexible than cement, all while being environmentally safe.

Founder and Technical Manager. The inventor of Ferrock and a leader in sustainable construction.

Stuart Egnal

Operations Manager. He oversees daily operations and scaling our production.

Josh Young

Financial Manager. He ensures our responsible growth and financial strategy.

Sumeru Nayak

Scientific Advisor. He is a senior engineering and R&D leader currently serving as a Senior Research Engineer at James Hardie, with deep expertise in digital tools, generative AI, and innovation that has driven significant cost savings and operational efficiencies. He holds a PhD in Materials & Structures and has held advanced research, academic, and executive roles across industry and academia, including serving as CTO and Board Member at Panda Industries.
